Uganda Service Update

Hello Families and Friends! We've officially completed a week of ministry on this trip. Our time in Uganda is flying by! On Wednesday we were picked up at the airport by the YFC team and trained at their facility which is a couple of hours away from the airport. Training gave us a good chance to get to know the YFC team and learn a bunch of the dances we would be doing in the schools. The YFC team was also kind enough to go back to the airport on Thursday and pick the bags that did not make it to Uganda originally. Thankfully, no one was without a bag for very long and all our donation materials made it to Uganda. On Thursday and Friday we visited schools in the area. These visits are to schools with kids of all ages in the towns and villages in the surrounding areas. At these visits we dance, perform skits, and help the YFC team teach about the meaning of the skits. The dancing and skits have been particularly hilarious! The teaching time as seemed fruitful as there has been

Hello From Uganda!

Hey families and friends! It was a crazy day of travel (we made our flight with about 5 minutes to spare). The Lord was very gracious in putting people from the airline and security in our path. These people helped us speed through check in and security. We have made it to Uganda with 100% percent of our team and 90% of our bags! We're not with constant internet, so updates might be a bit spotty from here. We're starting our school visits and outreach tomorrow and are all really excited for it! Thanks for your prayers and support! Marc

Day 2 and 3 Update

Hello families and friends! It has been two very full days here in Ethiopia. On Monday, the team helped lead a VBS and visited two other ministries in the area. The VBS for the Hope for the Fatherless kids was a great experience. It was great to meet the kids who up to this point had just been a picture to us. One of the standouts of the first day was hearing the kids sing the HFTF song that TJ and Connor had written for them. We hope to have pictures and maybe video of that up sometime soon! We also visited Children's Haven and Selamta . Children's Haven works specifically with girls. It seeks to empower them by giving them community, teaching them Biblical based morality, improving their confidence, and helping fund and support their education. We had a chance to spend time playing and worshipping with many of the girls and it was an amazing experience. The next ministry we visited was Selamta. They adopt children from the government orphanages and place them in 'fa

Hello From Addis!

Hello families and friends! We made it safely to Ethiopia and have been enjoying getting to know the city of Addis. The wifi was turned of off throughout the city for the last day, so I'm sorry to not have blogged earlier! We were able to attend church and get to know more about Hope for the Fatherless with Lea. We are excited to start VBS today. Pray that we love and serve well. Thanks for your prayers! - Marc
